How Does the Pick 3 & Pick 4 Number Checker Work?

The Pick 3 & Pick 4 number checker compares your digits with every draw of the chosen game in the date range you pick, then lists each match with its match type, prize and claim deadline. Results are checked against each state lottery's published numbers.

  1. Choose the state and game – for example North Carolina Pick 3 or New York Win 4 – and type the digits on your ticket. Repeats such as 1-1-7 are fine.
  2. Choose the date range: the latest draw, the last 7, 30 or 90 days, the last year, or custom dates up to one year at a time. A multi-draw or advance-play ticket is checked over the range it covers.
  3. Choose the draw (all draws or one) and what to look for: exact order (straight), any order (box) and pairs (front, back and, on Pick 3, split).
  4. Read the result: every matching draw is listed in a full sentence with the date, the draw, the digits drawn, the match type, the prize on a $1 play where the state's prize table is verified, and the last day to claim.

A result reads like this: "Your 1-2-3 matched the North Carolina Pick 3 Evening draw on Friday, September 18, 2026 in any order (drawn 3-2-1). Prize $80 on a $1 Any Order." The same draw history is shown day by day on the North Carolina Pick 3 results page.

Fireball and other add-on matches are listed separately, because they count only if the add-on was bought. The checker substitutes the Fireball digit for each drawn digit in turn and shows any new straight, box or pair match with its Fireball prize where verified. My Numbers saves up to 10 numbers in your browser, so a saved number is checked again in one tap. The checker does not check 1-Off bets.

What Counts as a Straight or Box Match?

A straight match means your digits were drawn in the exact order; a box match means the same digits were drawn in any order. A pair match compares two positions only.

Match types used by the ThreeFour number checker, with an example for the number 1-2-3 (Pick 4: 1-2-3-4) and the odds per draw. Odds from the North Carolina Education Lottery how-to-play pages.
Match type Rule Example (your number 1-2-3) Pick 3 odds Pick 4 odds

Any order, 6-way / 24-way box same digits, other order, all different drawn 3-1-2 (Pick 4: 4-3-2-1) 1 in 166.7 1 in 416.7
Any order, 3-way / 12-way box one repeated digit (Pick 4: one pair) 1-1-2 matches 2-1-1 1 in 333.3 1 in 833.3
Any order, 6-way / 4-way box (Pick 4) two pairs / three of a kind 1-1-2-2 matches 2-1-2-1 – 1 in 1,666.7 / 1 in 2,500
Front pair first two digits in order drawn 1-2-0 1 in 100 1 in 100
Back pair last two digits in order drawn 0-2-3 1 in 100 1 in 100
Split pair (Pick 3) first and last digits in order drawn 1-9-3 1 in 100 –
Fireball match Fireball digit replaces one drawn digit and creates a match drawn 1-2-0, Fireball 3 → 1-2-3 state chart state chart

A match pays only if your ticket's bet type covers it: a straight-only ticket wins nothing on a box match, and pair bets are sold only in some states. To see how often a number has come up since a game's records began, use the Pick 3 number history lookup.

Number Checker FAQ

These answers cover what to do once the checker shows a match.

Did my Pick 3 numbers win last night?

Choose your state, game and "Latest draw", enter your digits and press Check numbers. The checker says whether they matched in exact order, in any order or as a pair, and what that pays on a $1 play, using results checked against the state lottery's published numbers.

Can I check old tickets?

Yes. Pick a custom date range of up to one year at a time, back to the first date shown for your game. Old wins may be past the claim deadline; the ticket expiration checker shows the last day for any draw date.

What if my number matched in a different order?

An any-order match wins only if you played box, any order, straight/box (50/50) or combo; a straight-only ticket needs the exact order. The checker labels each any-order match by size, and Pick 3 payouts by state lists every state's box prizes.

Do I need to claim at the lottery?

Yes. ThreeFour cannot cash tickets or pay prizes. Confirm the result with your state lottery, sign the ticket and claim at a licensed retailer or the lottery before the deadline, as explained in how to claim a Pick 3 or Pick 4 prize.

Can I save my numbers to check later?

Yes. My Numbers saves up to 10 numbers in your browser, with no account, so you can check them again with one tap. They stay on your device and are not sent to ThreeFour; clearing your browser data removes them.

What does my winning number pay?

The checker shows the prize on a $1 play for each match where the state's prize table is verified. For other stakes, box sizes and add-ons, the Pick 3 payout calculator works out the exact amount in any state.
