North Carolina's page covers the state's daily-numbers games only, so each card shows the latest Daytime and Evening digits with the Fireball digit drawn after them. Today's full set is four results: Pick 3 Daytime, Pick 4 Daytime, Pick 3 Evening and Pick 4 Evening. Each card keeps the previous draw, with its date, until the next one is checked.
Carolina Pick 3 and Carolina Pick 4 are the names the North Carolina Education Lottery gives its Pick 3 and Pick 4 games. Both games share the same two draw times, so one Daytime update and one Evening update carry every North Carolina Pick 3 and Pick 4 number of the day.
Carolina Pick 3 draws three digits from 0 to 9, giving 1,000 possible numbers from 000 to 999. Carolina Pick 4 draws four digits, giving 10,000 possible numbers from 0000 to 9999. A $1 Exact play pays $500 on Pick 3 and $5,000 on Pick 4 when every digit matches in the order drawn.
Fireball is the optional extra digit in both North Carolina games. The Fireball digit is drawn separately after the base digits, replaces any one of them to make extra winning numbers, and doubles the cost of a play.
The North Carolina Education Lottery is run by the North Carolina State Lottery Commission, a nine-member commission created by the North Carolina State Lottery Act. All net proceeds go to education, including school construction, pre-K and scholarships.
The North Carolina Evening draw at 11:22 PM ET produces one Carolina Pick 3 number and one Carolina Pick 4 number every night. Each row shows the latest Evening digits, the Fireball digit and the draw date.

The Evening row pair holds last night's North Carolina winning numbers until the next 11:22 PM ET draw is checked. Evening is the second and last North Carolina drawing of each day. Store sales for it close at 11:00 PM ET, and Online Play sales close at 10:58 PM ET.
The Fireball column is drawn after the base digits and is never part of the winning number itself. A Pick 3 or Pick 4 ticket without Fireball wins on the base digits alone.

North Carolina has no draw named Midday. Searches for NC Pick 3 and Pick 4 midday numbers lead to the 3:00 PM ET Daytime draw, the only North Carolina drawing held during the day. The Daytime table above is therefore the North Carolina midday result for both games, Fireball included.

A North Carolina ticket wins only on the draw and date printed on it. Choose Daytime for a 3:00 PM ET ticket and Evening for an 11:22 PM ET ticket. A Multi-Draw ticket covers up to 7 consecutive draws, so it is checked against each of those draws in turn. The Fireball digit counts only on tickets that paid for Fireball.

North Carolina lies in the Eastern Time zone, so 3:00 PM and 11:22 PM ET are local clock times for every North Carolina player. Store sales close 15 minutes before the Daytime draw and 22 minutes before the Evening draw. Retail sales reopen at about 3:01 PM and 11:30 PM ET, after each draw.
Multi-Draw tickets cover up to 7 consecutive Daytime or Evening draws, and Advance Play sells tickets for future draws. The game rules let the North Carolina Education Lottery draw the digits with numbered-ball machines or with computerized random-number equipment certified by an independent third party. North Carolina Pick 3 prizes must be claimed within 180 calendar days of the drawing, and Carolina Pick 4 prizes follow the same deadline. Claimants must be 18 or older. Where you claim depends on the size of the prize.
A $500 Carolina Pick 3 Exact win on a $1 play is paid by any retailer. A $5,000 Carolina Pick 4 Exact win on a $1 play goes to a Regional Claims Center, to headquarters or by mail, with the claim form and ID. The 180 days run from the draw date printed on the ticket, not from the day it was bought.
North Carolina does not let lottery winners stay anonymous. For prizes of $600 or more, the winner's name, city, game, claim date and amount are public record. Claim rules for other states are collected in our guide on how to claim a Pick 3 or Pick 4 prize.
North Carolina taxes lottery prizes as income at its flat 3.99% rate for 2026, and the Lottery Commission withholds North Carolina income tax from winnings of $600 or more under state law (G.S. 105-163.2B).
For federal tax in 2026, a North Carolina prize of $2,000 or more (net of the stake) that is at least 300 times the wager is reported on Form W-2G. Federal withholding of 24% starts only once winnings minus the stake exceed $5,000.
A $5,000 Carolina Pick 4 Exact win on a $1 play therefore gets a W-2G but no mandatory federal withholding, because its proceeds are $4,999. North Carolina still withholds its 3.99% from that prize, because it is above $600. A $500 Carolina Pick 3 Exact win triggers neither a W-2G nor any withholding, yet it still counts as taxable income on the federal and state return.

North Carolina's Pick 3 history starts on October 6, 2006, when Carolina Pick 3 began with one nightly draw. The game became twice daily on March 30, 2008. Carolina Pick 4 started on April 17, 2009, with one draw a day, and became twice daily on February 27, 2011. Fireball joined both games on September 18, 2022.
