On a $1 Straight play the top fixed prize is $500 for Pick-3 and $5,000 for Pick-4, and every play costs from $0.50 to $5. The New Jersey Lottery spells both games with a hyphen, Pick-3 and Pick-4; searches for NJ Pick 3 and Pick 4 mean the same two games. Each card shows the latest Midday and Evening numbers, the Fireball digit and the time the result was checked.
New Jersey's daily-numbers tradition began on May 22, 1975, when Pick-It – today's Pick-3 – let players choose their own numbers for the first time in a legal US lottery. Pick-4 followed on July 9, 1977. Both games moved from pari-mutuel to fixed prizes on November 14, 2022.
Pick-3 and Pick-4 are New Jersey's only daily-numbers games, so this page has no New Jersey Pick 2 or Pick 5 results. Only New Jersey's two daily-numbers games are covered here.

Each New Jersey game page carries its own number checker for every Midday and Evening drawing of the last 30, 90 or 365 days. Choose Pick-3 or Pick-4 to check a ticket.

The New Jersey lottery drawing times are the same for both games, seven days a week. A New Jersey ticket covers several drawings at once – Multi-Draw allows up to 7 – and Play It Again replays a ticket bought in the last 30 days. Midday drawings were added to both games in November 2001; before that, New Jersey drew once a day.
How to Claim a New Jersey Lottery Prize
New Jersey Pick-3 and Pick-4 prizes must be claimed within one year from the date of the drawing. Buyers must be 18 or older, and the route depends on how much the ticket won.
$599.99 or less – cash at any New Jersey Lottery retailer.
Over $599.99 – complete a claim form and hand it in at any retailer, send it by mail, or drop it off at the Lawrence Park Complex, 1333 Brunswick Avenue Circle, Trenton (Lawrence Township), NJ 08648, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
$600 to $10,000 – claim in the New Jersey Lottery mobile app as an alternative.
About $25,000 and up – claim by appointment, booked on 1-800-222-0996.
By mail – New Jersey Lottery, P.O. Box 041, Trenton, NJ 08625-0041.
Bring – the claim form and proper identification; payment follows in 4 to 6 weeks, and a W-2G arrives after the year ends.
How to claim lottery winnings in NJ therefore depends on the amount: a retailer pays small prizes on the spot, the app takes $600 to $10,000, and the claim form covers every larger prize. A $1 New Jersey Pick-4 Straight win of $5,000 falls inside the app band, so it is claimed from a phone. A $1 Pick-3 Straight win of $500 is paid in cash at any retailer. New Jersey lets lottery winners choose to remain anonymous under a law signed in January 2020. The steps for other states are collected in how to claim a Pick 3 or Pick 4 prize.
Taxes on New Jersey Lottery Winnings
New Jersey does not tax New Jersey Lottery prizes of $10,000 or less. Larger prizes are taxable, and the Lottery withholds 5% state tax from $10,001 to $500,000 and 8% above $500,000.
Federal tax is withheld at 24% from prizes over $5,000 (30% for non-US citizens), and a W-2G is issued for prizes of $2,000 or more in 2026. A $1 Pick-4 Straight win of $5,000 therefore carries no New Jersey income tax and no mandatory federal withholding, but it is reported on a W-2G. Winnings from other states' lotteries are taxable in New Jersey whatever their size. Every prize, reported or not, is federal taxable income. Try a prize amount in the Pick 3 & Pick 4 tax calculator.
